Hello and welcome to Darling Edna.
A place where you can find recipes, information on physical wellbeing, travel and home ideas as well as some life ramblings from a non expert.
My name is Aly and I am a professional artist at www.alyharte.com . I use art in all it’s mediums to express my love (read obsession) with the “everyday”. Coffee cups, familiar landmarks, colour associations. All of these, I believe contribute to what is known as our “everyday”. Not only do I love drawing them, I think they are worth placing importance on. So basically this blog is an insight into some valuable (or not so valuable) elements in my “Everyday” including recipes, fitness ideas and some thoughts on life. I guess it is like my everyday journey documented in blogposts, and I am so happy to have you along with me.
Edna was my grandmother’s name. Sadly she passed away last year.
Although she had dementia, my Grandmother had a strong influence on my upbringing and we shared a very special bond. I wanted Darling Edna to be rooted in family, mirroring my Grandmother’s beautifully simple yet resourceful way of living, while also exploring my own path in life.
The ‘Darling’ part of the blog name is just an affectionate term that I love the sound of.
This blog is an extension of my creative side showcasing my love for photography, making and writing. Most images are taken with my fuji x100s or by my talented photographer friend Jamie Trimble.
You can also expect to see a glimpse into my family life with my husband Michael and our three boisterous sons.
Hopefully I convey a realistic (the good, the bad, the funny, the sad) view into the life of a family woman, a home maker and a business woman on a journey of physical and mental wellness.
Have fun navigating the site and don’t hesitate to send me a note if you want to chat.
